The Indiana Writer's Consortium
(IWC) held its 2nd Annual Power of Poetry Awards Assembly on Friday, April 20th
at Taft Middle School in Crown Point. Four elementary schools participated in
this year's Power of Poetry Project (PoPP).
The participating students in grades
Kindergarten through fifth grade were from Douglas MacArthur in Cedar Lake,
Lake Street and Solon Robinson in Crown Point, and Oak Hill in Lowell.

The winning students' poems and
illustrations were published in this year's edition of the IWC PoPP magazine.
In addition, place winners also received a certificate, gift card, and medal.
The PoPP project was funded by the Crown Point Community Foundation, IWC
members, and private donors.
